Beulah Abdiel prayed fervently at the end of her bed. “Mommy! Mommy! Are you okay?” her son screamed as he rushed into the room. Beulah, on callused knees, seemed out of control, screaming untranslatable words. Tristian was used to his mother’s hysterical form of prayer. At least to him her prayers seemed hysterical. But this time Tristian was scared. For a boy of only eight years, a screaming mother would be frightening.
