ABOUT THE AUTHOR

My name is Stephen Johnathan Pheifer. You haven’t met me yet. I’ll show up in volume 4 of Twin Memoirs, in book 8. I reside in London, and I am a graduate of Oxford University with a master’s and doctorate degrees in business administration and finance.

Briefly, I was born on April 4, 1940, at Denver General Hospital in Denver, Colorado. I was born two months premature, with birth defects, and have spent my whole life in a wheelchair.

My parents were Thomas and Maxine Pheifer. They died when I was only ten years old in 1950. I married my wife, Helena, in the seventies, and we have two lovely daughters, who happen to be identical twins, and a boy.

I first met the DeMarco brothers in 1984. I met Mr. Robert Parsons, the ghostwriter of the DeMarco brothers’ memoirs, in 1988, when he was on a business trip to London and Switzerland. I was asked to be part of the Twin Memoirs storyline concerning the DeMarco brothers since we, the DeMarco brothers and I, had a commonality in our lives. I, too, was a businessman who lived in London. I’ll leave the commonality of that mystery for you to discover later. I only knew who Bob, Mr. Parsons, was through his writing of Twin Memoirs. Now I was to become part of the Twin Memoirs family.

 Matlin, Michael—through his journals—and Michael, another Michael (I have been told not to let on, for he is still a mystery until volume 5), have each already told you about Bob, the author, in Flight of the Revelation and Twin Memoirs volumes 1 and 2. It is now my turn to share in volume 3.

 Basically, what I know about Bob is what I and you, the reader, have read. Bobby was born in Roseville, California, on September 10, 1955, at Roseville General Hospital. His parents were Elmer and Mary Jane Parsons. Bob told me incredible stories about his parents that I hope he will share with everyone at some point.

Bobby attended George Cirby Elementary School through sixth grade, then he attended Warren T. Eich Intermediate School for grades 6 and 7. Roseville High School was his next step in higher education, finally graduating from Skyline High School in Idaho Falls, Idaho, in 1973.

Bob went on to college and graduated with a bachelor of arts degree and a master’s in management from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma. What a great combination for writing and running a business!

As an author, Robert dabbled in writing until Matlin DeMarco, whom Bobby met when he was just three years old, asked him to write his memoirs of himself and his twin brother, Michael, after Bob had moved to Colorado in 1974.

I love how Michael, the mystery man who wrote about the author in volume 2, left everyone wondering when he mentioned a “spoiler alert!” Of course, this particular Michael let on that he was the adoptive brother of Bob.

I shall do the same in regards to a “spoiler alert,” for Matlin and Michael were not identical twins, after all.

And to keep you thinking, my son got the nickname Sudsy. I remember the day I entered the bathroom while Helena was bathing our son. He was covered in suds. I mentioned, “He looks so sudsy,” since he was covered in bubbles.

Now the throwback to the American television series My Three Sons, which began its twelve-year run in 1960. Chip’s best friend was Sudsy Pheifer before Ernie came along. Therefore, my son’s nickname, Sudsy Phieifer, was conceived long before that show hit the airwaves. Did you catch the subliminal hint? Why did I interject this particular television show?
